Team Overview
The Markets Communications - Vice President is a seasoned professional who integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external/internal audiences. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning.
What You'll Do
- Work with business and functional partners and Entreprise Services and Public Affairs colleagues on integrated Communications strategies that support franchise-wide priorities and business line specific programs
- Maintain relationships with media, including trade publications.
- Lead key industry award campaigns and executive profile submissions.
- Collaborate with regional Public Affairs Officers to drive successful outcomes.
- Engage stakeholders in a matrixed organization to manage issues in critical situations, with a focus on reputation risk.
- Draft organizational announcements, initiative-specific communications and talking points, including the coordination of employee-related events.
- Ensure effective communication cascades and channels that distribute targeted information at the franchise, business line and local team level
- Writing communication updates and messages as per the Communications plan or to support franchise wide activities as well as business/function line communication
- Providing communications support for major projects
- Coordinating communication videos
- Source, develop, and ensure relevance of content for various channels.
- Development and implementation of the communications strategy to maintain and strengthen reputation among the key audiences, based on the business and marketing strategy, global and local priorities
- Promotion of the key advantages of the company, its products and services with external and internal communication instruments among key external audiences and employees
- Building and strengthening work with the key media pool, key audiences and their representatives. Influencing company's reputation in the public sphere
- Ensure activity adheres to Citi's policies and procedures. Maintain records and approvals for audit purposes where appropriate.
- Professional communications experience
- Experience managing communications and media relations within a banking and finance environment.
- Experience or interest in covering financial markets.
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts for a broader audience.
- Ability to perform under high pressure in a consistent, professional manner.
- Responsiveness with the ability to meet tight deadlines, including outside core working hours.
- Experience in issues and crisis management in a high-profile organisation.
- Knowledge of financial regulation and industry issues specific to the region.
- Rigorous attention to detail and capacity to absorb technical information.
- Strong communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills and awareness of messaging risk. Outstanding news judgement, integrity, and discretion with confidential information.
