Material Buyer

Are you a looking for a new challenge? Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a client based in Billingham with the appointment of a Materials Buyer. We are looking for somebody who has strong knowledge of MRP systems (preferably worked with Epicore), who has been involved with the implementation of a new system and strong understanding of supply chain processes.

On offer is an excellent opportunity to step into a manufacturing company, where your initial responsibilities will be to implement the new MRP system, working with the wider team to get the programme up and running to a high level. Following the implementation, you will be a vital part of the Purchasing team, dealing with suppliers and placing purchase orders.

Responsibilities include:

• Data cleansing, creation and implementation.
• Transition from monthly spreadsheet based ordering to Epicor MRP
• Working with our engineering, commercial, IT and production teams to forecast material demand for NPI and build into our systems.
• Developing reports in or from Epicor to give insight into pricing, stock levels and supplier performance.
• Responsible for the delivery of an efficient and cost-effective purchasing solution for the business.
• Processing of purchase orders for the business and supporting the Procurement Team, with regards to indirect and direct material supply.

The Person:

• Track record of buying raw materials, equipment, site services and general consumables; ideally working within manufacturing or engineering related environment.
• Well organised with ability to plan and priorities workload while dealing with multiple tasks efficiently and with limited supervision.
• Able to demonstrate cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
