The Opportunity
In this role you will be responsible for leading and developing the Materials and Packaging side of the Planning Team at Melton Foods to deliver the forecasted business plan and KPIs. You will pro-actively manage and prioritise the daily workload of the Planners, communicating actions to relevant stakeholders to achieve KPIs in line with expectations.

• To drive people engagement across the Planning function to keep people safe, engaged and focused to deliver against the site’s strategy.
• To lead the continuous development of the Health & Safety and Environmental culture in the planning department.
• To provide an efficient and cost effective plan to all areas of the business relating to Materials and Packaging.
• To manage relationships with suppliers and work in a timely manner with technical teams on any non conformances raised. Reviewing Supplier performance with the team and developing a relationship with the supply base to mitigate shortages to our customers.
• To develop, manage and report a set of KPI’s against which the department can be monitored and improvements measured.
• Ensure robust communications are maintained within planning and across other departments ensuring well informed teams. Manage day to day information flow so that immediate issues are resolved as rapidly as possible and best practices shared amongst the wider operational population.
• To contribute and support other Senior Management team member initiatives.
• Training and development of the team to ensure optimum effectiveness and efficiency.

• Management experience within a food manufacturing environment
• Extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• High levels of numeracy and literacy are required to achieve communication objectives.
• This is a results driven role which requires flexibility in a time constrained environment.
• Good level of English & Maths (must be numerate)
• Educated to GCSE / 'A’ Level or equivalent.
• Flexible and adaptable
