As a Materials Planner you will be responsible for ensuring materials are correct and available to meet business demand. You will do this through successfully ordering and managing the inventory control processes and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities of a Materials Planner Include:
- Liaising with a variety of internal and external parties, including suppliers and hauliers to ensure high levels of service are maintained both efficiently and cost effectively
- NPD activity likely to affect future demand is to be reviewed weekly
- Maintenance and upkeep of static data in Excel stock boards and other systems used to schedule materials
- Identify and resolve day to day issues. Taking each case on its own merit, communicate and escalate effectively to both internal and external parties to ensure satisfactory conclusions
- Represent department at internal and external meetings as required. Report to team as necessary with key actions and updates. Feed back to meeting stakeholders with action updates as appropriate
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required of a Materials Planner:
- Experience of working in a Planning, Admin or Stock Controller role
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment
- Good working knowledge of Excel and MS Office based programmes
- Ambition and keen to progress
- Highly organised and able to work autonomously
- Strong administration skills
