SalaryWe are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Maths specialist who can teach Key Stage 3, IGCSE and A-level (and ideally Additional Maths) for a British curriculum school for children aged 3 to 18 based in Pearl City, Penang, Malaysia. The school follows an enhanced British International Curriculum from the Early Years Foundation Stage, to Primary stages and through to IGCSE and Advanced Level (A/AS) courses. Please note that an ability to teach A Level mathematics is essential for this role. You must have teacher training for Secondary Mathematics, and at least 3 full recent years of teaching Mathematics, including to A level.
The school has dedicated English Language Learning and Additional Educational Needs staff, a large range of enrichment activities that include sports, performing arts, culture, science and technology.
Candidates should be university educated with an Honours Degree and recognised teaching qualification, and should have evidence of ongoing professional development. They should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the English National Curriculum, and IGCSE and AS and A2 Level curriculums, EAL (English as an Additional Language) provision, current educational issues and up to date curriculum developments and the application of effective learning and teaching strategies that attain high levels of student achievement.
For visa purpose, teachers must have at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience and they must be 63 or below at time of appointment (cannot get a visa after 65). the school look for teachers who are flexible, sociable, dedicated and passionate.
