Salary The Role
Due to a growing order book and opportunities, we are looking for Mechanical Design Engineers at all levels, from Intermediate to Senior/Principal, to work within the South East Design Department.
The successful candidates will be technically minded and self-motivated individuals that can work well within a team or work independently as necessary.
Main responsibilities dependent upon role would be:
- Produce technical detailed design information including calculations, schematics and layout drawings.
- Be mindful of all services requirements to aid coordination and buildability
- Liaise and assist estimating and operations alike to ensure the projects are secure, designed and installed to an exemplary standard
- Provide support to the team and discipline leads
- Attend design team and/or client/contractor team meetings
- Able to understand a consultants design and offer alternatives/betterment
- Consider financial implications during design development
Senior Level Engineers additionally shall;
- Review the work of Engineers and Graduates and provide support and guidance.
- Act as a mentor to junior staff and promote CPD activities
- Be cognisant of risk and apply value engineering
- Consider resource and fee expenditure
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical building services design in a wide range of market sectors
- The ability to provide technically sound design solutions
- Knowledge of and/or background within a MEP contractor organisation
- Understanding of; the calculation of loads and system duties including psychrometrics, sizing of pipework and ductwork, sizing of domestic water services, producing schematic diagrams, producing plant & equipment schedules
- A working knowledge of Revit, and industry standard calculation software
