Mechanical Design Engineer

Just Recruitment is working with a stable and well-regarded organisation, based in Haverhill.
They are looking to add a Design Engineer to their existing team.
The key purpose of this role is to support the design, development and prototyping services of the business - including project work.
Duties include:
Participate in the design and development process of new products - creating necessary component and assembly drawings and BOMs
Undertake engineering change activities to drawings, models and BOMS of existing products
Administering the design documentation control
Define and create BOM and identify part vendors
Support the engineering team with the development of prototypes
Design jigs and fixtures for manufacturing processes
Develop setups and prove prototypes
Provide initial product qualification against appropriate standards and quality procedures
Support product transfer to production and help with solving initial production issues
Required experience and qualifications:
Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Design Engineering, product design or a related field.
2 years+ Mechanical Design and new product development experience is preferable.
Proficient with 3D Cad software essential
Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
Working knowledge of precision component design to tight tolerances, design for high tolerance machining
Working knowledge of material properties and stress analysis.
Experience identifying and working with tooling and component suppliers to source components necessary to meet requirements of the design.
Demonstrated team work skills in a small company environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to manage several projects through effective planning and time management.
