Job description
We are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer within a prestigious M&E company in providing engineering design for the manufacture and repair of M&E systems and plant components. The role is a permanent position paying circa 50-65k depending on experience. Mon-Fri circa 40 hours per week. Based out of the West Midlands regional office.
Design Engineer Duties:
Design of Mechanical equipment / plant and associated upgrades and retrofits.
Analysis of failed systems and modification suggestion
Lead engineering activity, including client facing aspects, during projects works.
Condition reports
Providing service and maintenance support
Assisting the tendering and project management teams with winning new projects and then providing technical oversight thorough to completion.
Producing test instructions for the dynamic testing and analysis of results.
Quality Control and Technical compliance in accordance with agreed contractual arrangements.
Stress testing
Motor and rotating component design, analysis and repair engineering
Design Engineer Requirements:
Knowledge of the Mechanical engineering design - Mechanical Engineering qualified
Experience of manufacturing techniques and industry
Ability to work either as part of a team and independently when required.
Good documentation skills.
Familiar with simulation software
Degree qualified or above
CAD skills
Five years’ experience in a professional engineering role.
Experience of motor systems, rotating components and instrument engineering
Ability to travel: Work would be predominantly office based but some tasks may require travel within UK.
Computer skills: Must be adept in use of MS Office, CAD and typical engineering design software.
Literacy and Numeracy: Able to produce documents and calculation records to a professional standard.
