MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER We are working for a leading Engineering and Manufacturing Client, who due to on-going success are now strengthening their Mechanical Design Engineering team. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on Client led designs on their new and existing product ranges. THE ROLE This is a superb opportunity to join a leading design team with significant career progression and Learning and Development opportunities. Reporting to the Head of Design Engineering and working within a large team of Mechanical Design Engineers in a purpose-built Design Centre you will be required to take ownership of the design process which will include customer lead original design and modifications to existing product lines. Working in a DFM environment you will be required to design products in 2D and 3D and liaise with Production to successfully see your products through the manufacturing process. You will have strong ability with one of the leading CAD Software packages such as Catia, Solidworks or similar. You will also be required to assist and control Engineering Changes and new Design releases and support the hand over to NPI and production. THE PERSON Ideally 2 to 5 years post qualification experience in a design role ideally for a manufacturing company. This can include a year out in industry during your degree. Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Design Engineering. 2 to 5 years Mechanical Design Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment including use of systems such as; Solid Works, PRO-E, CATIA or Unigraphics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with Customers, manufacturing and other internal departments. Results driven with a can-do attitude to ensure solutions.
