Mechanical Engineer Permanent Opportunity Cambridge
A reputable institute based in Cambridge are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The Mechanical Engineering Technician role is to support a full and diverse Mechanical Engineering service within the Institute buildings. This includes attending to boiler plant, air conditioning plant and ancillary services including plumbing work.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for carrying out day to day remedial and PPM tasks to maintain the institutes operations and compliance for all relevant regulations and legislation. Specific training is a requirement within the post and is provided by the Institute.
Working with and assist other disciplines within the maintenance department to maintain a high standard of delivery to BI science, including departmental non-mechanical tasks as requested by BCE Managers forms part of the post holders duties.
This is a full time on campus attendance post.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance
- •Ensure continued and efficient running of plant rooms and all associated equipment within the campus and report any issues back to the Mechanical Supervisor.
- Carry out PPM tasks required for meeting relevant legislation and regulations
- Work with and assist other disciplines within the maintenance department to maintain a high standard of delivery.
- Attend relevant training courses identified by BCE Managers.
- Be part of an out of hours on call team and an overtime rota covering plant room checks.
- Manage own workload from mobile maintenance software.
- Carry out departmental non-mechanical tasks as requested by BCE Managers.
Mechanical Engineer Package
- GBP32,175 - GBP33,500 per annum (inclusive of on-call allowance)
- 37 hour working week
