WGM Engineering have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineered Solutions Division on a permanent basis covering various sites throughout the Central belt of Scotland. The overall purpose for the role is to deliver mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and new installation works including testing & pre-commissioning activities. Main duties and responsibilities
- Maintain, repair and install mechanical equipment for various private client sectors and Scottish Water sites
- Work collaboratively with our electrical, mechanical, commissioning engineers and site client operations staff.
- Swiftly and comprehensively fault-find, rectifying problems on a variety of mechanical equipment including sewage pumps and valves and associated pipe work, air blowers, screens, filter equipment, tanks, tank bridges.
- Assist in the response to reactive callouts, working alongside our electrical engineers to investigate, rectify and solve
- Actively taking part in Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessment and all related Health and Safety issues
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret RAMS and prepare Task Specific Risk Assessments where necessary
- Providing information and on-site support for WGM teams, assisting interdepartmental teams as required.
- Working onsite and travelling to and from site.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Deliver to work schedules
Qualifications
Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
Relevant NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous Mechanical Engineering experience ideally working within the waste water sector or industrial sectors, the ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, working as a team player alongside other mechanical and electrical engineers to provide complete solutions for planned and reactive work
