Gi Pro are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a multinational Electric company best known for its work in the Power, Renewable Energy, and Aerospace industries.
This role would be suitable individuals who responsible for all aspects of Mechanical Engineering from design to testing, and certification. You could be in Product Development identifying and creating solutions, designing new mechanical systems, defining test specifications as well as supporting global supply chain to sustain manufacturing/supplier processes.
The Role:
As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will be required to:
- Work within a cross- functional team to achieve the agreed deliverables (on time), from product concept to final certification and launch.
- Be responsible for developing mechanical designs, using CAD modelling/simulation tools.
- Ensure designs meet and comply with all relevant quality and regulatory standards.
- Development and execution of verification and validation test plans for new product projects.
- Support continuous improvement projects across the Business.
- Take a 'Hands on' approach to design & testing (ability to assemble and modify prototypes etc. essential).
The Person:
To be considered for the position of Mechanical Engineer it is expected that you will have:
- Proven experience in an industrial setting.
- Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical (or equivalent with experience).
- Competency in designing machined metal & sheet metal parts.
- CAD experience - SolidWorks / AutoCAD with experience of creating detailed drawings, BOMs and specifications.
- Strong communication skills with ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience working in the power/utilities industry.
- New product introduction (NPI) experience - Design to Validation.
- Experience of Aluminium casting and plastic moulding.
- Experience in the simulation and analysis of mechanical designs (ANSYS).
- Knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic control Systems.
- Experience using FMEA, RCA, 8D tools.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) experience.
- Demonstratable proficiency with PC business applications e.g. Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
