We are now looking for a Mechanical Engineering Coordinator, reporting to the Engineering Manager and based at Peterborough in the UK.

Your mission in Crown
Primarily responsible for ensuring optimum availability of the Lines to enable production to achieve/surpass budgeted operational levels. This will be achieved by efficient deployment of engineering resources and delivering effective maintenance programmes.
- Deliver maintenance plans across the Lines safely, on time in full, and ensure effective reporting of these activities in the relevant systems
- Ensure follow-up activities from the maintenance are followed up, communicated and closed out in a timely manner
- To analyse production reporting, Pareto analysis of losses, on the Lines, and to plan corrective actions as appropriate to maximise production
- To manage periods of downtime to ensure the loss of production is kept to a minimum
- To ensure the production lines and processes are reliable to meet the Plant’s LHE and spoilage targets
- To organise mechanical workshop activities in line with the plant priorities
- To Manage & develop and coach the Maintenance engineers to maximise their contribution and effectiveness
- To ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and that “5S” methods are deployed
- To ensure that best practices and statutory obligations are fully met and that a safety culture is developed
- To implement Good Manufacturing Practice and housekeeping improvements across the Plant and keep stores stocks updated and appropriate for the line equipment and processes
- To manage and control contractors on site ensuring compliance with H & S and food safety requirements including permits to work/risk assessments/method statements etc.
- Good commercial awareness and experience of managing suppliers and contractors, to deliver planned & annual maintenance activities within budget
About you:
- Technical background, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
- Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills and the ability to up-date and feedback progress to a wide variety of people is essential
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with knowledge and work experience of using structured Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques
- A teamwork approach whilst being able to deliver outcome and drive improvements, ensuring maintenance activities are completed on time in full
- Previous man-management experience
- A strong Health and Safety mind-set
- PC literate and Information Systems oriented; Experience of managing a computerised maintenance system an advantage
- Knowledge of installing new equipment / setting up asset care / maintenance / spares etc
- Prior experience of writing and reviewing risk assessments
