As our next Mechanical Fitter, you will gain exposure to a variety of “blue chip” companies gaining a wealth of knowledge to take your skills to the next level. You will be working within the Energy Business Unit performing Mechanical Fitting activities.
What does a day looks like,
- You will be responsible for the production of Siemens Energy small gas turbine packaging assemblies and 3rd party customer components. An integral part of ensuring we are able to deliver high quality products to our customers world wide.
- Hold experience with Rotalign equipment and the process of alignment.
- Carry out pipework assembly for the build of fuel control modules and familiarization of Swagelok products and fitting.
- Assist the on site mechanical team with coupling and fastening of turbines to auxiliary equipment.
- Use tooling and measuring equipment, in association with engineering drawings and layouts, to a high tolerance level, to ensure the assembly is built right first time.
- Use lifting equipment and fixtures to complete this process and complete associated paperwork including the recording of build figures and ensure they are within required limits.
- You will be expected to maintain a high level of 5S to ensure the working area remains clean and tidy and submit process improvement ideas to support business continuous improvement initiatives .
- High standards of quality are a must both in your fitting work and paperwork.
What’s essential
- Previous fitter experience
- Trained or qualified as an apprentice or to an equivalent NVQ level 3 in Mechanical
- Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and working to Standard Operation Procedures
- Excellent attention to detail to assemble components to high precision and fit limits
- Assembly of pipework systems and Swagelok products, holding of Swagelok Installation Card is advantageous.
- Strong safety and quality driven mindset and collaborative teamwork approach.
