Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

TRC Group are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer on a permanent contract for a well-known steel manufacturer. This role is to be based in S9 area of Sheffield – great transport connections!

This will be a hands-on role working both independently and within the site Maintenance Team working on a variety of site machinery & equipment, including furnaces & overhead cranes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Respond immediately to breakdowns, carry out fault diagnosis and repairs in a safe and timely manner.
• Carry out Planned Maintenance: ensuring PPM activities are completed on time
• Reactive Maintenance: quickly and efficiently reacting to live breakdowns
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and HSE checks.

Qualifications / Personal Attributes:

• Mechanical NVQ, City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent
• Previous experience within a similar role
• Welding & Fabrication (desirable but not essential)
• Demonstrate sound general knowledge of and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislation.
• Working at height using either access equipment or climbing ladders to fixed working platforms.

Hours:

AM: Monday – Friday 06:00 – 13:30

PM: Monday – Thursday 11:00 – 19:30 & Friday 10:00 – 17.30

This role offers a competitive salary of £38,000 - £39,500 per annum as well as early finish on a Friday!
