Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary: £65-75K DOE
The Role:
- Responsible for all Mechanical & HVAC aspects of projects which are generally located in London & South East.
- Overseeing commercial projects which typically consists of a Working Foreman + direct and subcontract labour.
- Responsible for effective relationship management with clients & working partners to achieve smooth operational and commercial progression of projects.
- Making sure health, safety & welfare is maintained and adhered to at project/site level.
- Managing projects from contract signature stage, through all phases until handover to the end user.
- Ensuring that all related design information is correctly and fully audited to secure overall compliance.
- Overseeing all elements of the overall commissioning process to ensure that the installations are correctly commissioned.
- Ensuring that complete and comprehensive records are collated and maintained covering all aspects of quality control, system/equipment testing, commissioning and equipment maintenance.
- Procurement duties.
- Commercial duties – variation, interim Applications and costings etc.
- Attend on site meetings, as and when required.
- Overseeing the preparation of operation & maintenance manuals.
- Providing technical support and expertise to the internal project team.
- Responsible for handover to clients and after care.
- Role based between office and sites.
- Standard working hours: 8-5 Mon-Fri but this can be flexible. Eg. 07:30-16:30.
- Reporting to the Director.
The Company:
- 30+ years experience delivering MEP/HVAC projects throughout the South East.
- Offices based in Harlow, Essex.
- Only work on commercial projects up to the value of £2m in mechanical value. Infrastructure works - Hotels, Hospitals, Plant Rooms etc. Typical project value - £300-700K (Mechanical). Projects generally run from 20 weeks - 2 years.
- This company currently has a turnover in the region of £3-4m per year and have around 15 direct employees. Also use regulars subcontractors, approx. additional 25.
- This hire is due to the company growth. Winning more and more work.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will have 10+ years experience working as a Mechanical Project/Contracts Manager with sound knowledge of Air Conditioning & Ventilation.
- Will have previous experience working with commercial projects up to the value of £700K (Mechanical value).
- Will hold a Black CSCS Managers Card. HND/HNC and other credentials advantageous.
- Will be commercially savvy to manage variation costings etc.
- Will work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Will have excellent communication skills.
- Will be located 10-15 miles from Harlow, Essex and be willing to go to projects in London and across the South East when required.
- Will drive with their own vehicle.
