Our client is a global leader in Defence and Aerospace manufacturing. An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician to join the manufacturing team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manufacture Production components and jigs.
- Maintain a safe working environment ensuring that all company and
- regulatory standards are always achieved.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through the identification, reporting
- and resolution of Non-Conformance to products and materials
- Carry out manual/CNC machining turning (sliding head), milling and
- surface grinding
- Perform sub assembly and bench fitting of precision tools
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Make fixtures and other work-holding devices and tools as appropriate
- Full mechanical inspection with the aid of an CMM
- Program CNC machines and the use of CAD/CAM systems
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Has completed a formal apprenticeship in a Toolmaking or Fitter / Turner discipline or has experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of CNC Machining Required
- ONC HNC in mechanical engineering advantageous.
- To be competent in the use of engineering machinery such as: - Milling machines, Lathes, Surface grinders, and CNC machines including sliding head.
- Capable of programming CNC machines through MDI or using CAD/CAM
- Background in Inspection.
