Location: Settle / Appleby / Kirby Stephen / Carlisle, Cumbria (mobile - various locations)

Hours of work: 37.5

Working Pattern: 5 days from 7

Salary: £10.90 - £12.50

We maintain the facilities for Northern Trains, ensuring the stations are clean, safe and well maintained for the travelling public.​

The successful candidate will maintain the facility of approximately 18 Stations around the South of Cumbria and along the Settle-Carlisle line. The role includes cutting back vegetation, replacing signage, repairing fences and seating, small glazing repairs and minor painting work.

The Role

• Act on any instruction from the Area Supervisor & Area Manager
• Perspex replacement – Poster cases, Shelters & roof panels
• Minor Glazing replacement
• Fix, Repair & Replace fencing panels
• Minor Drainage clearance
• Replacing Signage – using ladders
• Gutter Clearance – Low & High level works
• Rectification & Replacement of station fixtures/furniture
• Wall Tile replacement
• Periodic vegetation works
• Use of hand & electric tools
• On Call rota to carry out any emergency repairs when required
• Report any faulty, damaged equipment to your line manager

About You​

The candidate should be able to work alone, good with mobile phone technology for access to scheduled and reactive work banks. You should be confident with hand held power tools, vegetation equipment and working at low and high levels.​

Additional certificates, qualifications and training preferred but not a necessity, it can be provided to the suitable candidate. You should be self motivated and proactive with owning the allocated stations.

Mandatory:

D&A – Drugs and Alcohol Testing – All employees are subject to planned and random D&A testing.
