Mechanical Technician (Days)
We have an opportunity at our Dumfries site for an experienced Mechanical Technician.
Successful applicants will have completed a recognised apprenticeship, preferably hold a HNC in mechanical engineering and will have at least 3 years of experience carrying out a similar role in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
The successful candidates will become part of a team required to maintain production equipment and maximise availability through a combination of reactive, proactive, preventative and predictive maintenance methods while working to the highest health & safety standards.
Basic qualifications:
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience carrying out a similar role in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Knowledge and experience of maintaining pumps, fans, gearboxes, bearings, valves, pneumatics, hydraulics and plant services.
- Experience of safe systems of work and risk assessment.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances
- Ability to work and communicate in a team
- Adaptable and flexible to support on site outside of normal working hours when required.
Preferred qualifications/ experience:
- HNC in mechanical engineering desirable.
- Experience of a Computerised Maintenance Management System desirable.
- Willingness to develop

This role comes with a competitive remuneration package dependent on skills and experience including optional company pension, health, dental and vision cover. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a valid work permit, if required.
This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday days with a requirement to work longer shifts as required which includes 12-hour day shifts, night shifts and weekend working.
