About the Role
Southend Medical Centre has an opportunity for a Medical Administrator/ receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis, for 5.5 hours per day Monday -Friday (27.5 hours per week). The surgery is open Monday -Friday 8am -6.30pm, applicants must be available during these times and rotas are issued on a monthly basis.
Duties can include but are not limited to:
- Meeting and greeting our patients in a friendly, approachable, and welcoming manner.
- Answering the telephone and booking appointments along with signposting patients to the most suitable service for them.
- Dealing with patient queries on the telephone and face-to-face.
- Liaising, and building relationships, with all departments and external organisations, in accordance with current policies and guidelines.
- Always communicating effectively and efficiently.
- Processing workflow, correspondence and A&E documents, along with daily post.
- Registrations & deductions, along with movement of records.
- Summarising.
About the Candidate
- Demonstrate excellent customer service.

- Have strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Understand the need for, and have the ability to adhere to our patient confidentiality policy.
- Be competent and experienced with using computers
- General Practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne is desirable.
