Job summary
Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive, professional and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. • Process patient prescriptions as directed. • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies. • Use judgement to support patients without appointments who require assistance, ensuring that they are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Receptionist to join our friendly and thriving practice focused on delivering high quality patient care.
The post is for a Full time applicant based in a well-established GP Practice situated close to junctions 27 and 28 on the M4. We are ideally looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who can fit into our experienced administration team to work 37.5 hours on a flexible basis between Mondays and Fridays. Experience in dealing with the general public and providing a high quality service is essential.
Duties will include answering the telephone, ‘care navigating’ – signposting patients to receive the most appropriate treatment, dealing with repeat prescriptions and patient queries on the telephone and at the reception desk. Computer literacy is essential and full training for the post will be given as appropriate.
The rate of pay will be dependent upon experience and the applicant will be offered membership of the NHS pension scheme.
