Job Title: Temporary Medical Secretary
Location: London (various sites)
Full compliance including valid DBS clearance needed to apply for this role.
We're looking for Medical Secretaries to join our Private Medical client on a temporary basis, we have multiple short and long term temporary opportunities for you to be considered.
As a Medical Secretary you'll be responsible for ensuring the continued provision of the highest quality of secretarial and administrative support. Duties will include providing full secretarial support to consultants, being responsible for the appropriate management of patient appointments, liaising with patients and hospital staff as required in order to facilitate this. You will also undertake any other duties as called upon to carry out by the Practice Manager.
What you'll do:
- Provide full secretarial support to Consultants (including audio-typing of clinical/non-clinical material, reports, clinic appointments, theatre booking of procedures) including those of a sensitive nature, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Management of patient appointments, communicating with patients, Consultants and team to facilitate.
- Receive new patient referrals and arrange relevant appointments according to the consultants' instructions.
- Registering new patients and maintain correct data on Trust Care-flow System.
- Audio-typing on EPRO system.
- Daily use of computerised patient casenotes.
- Scanning documents onto patient's electronic casenotes using dartQSCAN.
- Printing and posting/emailing correspondence letters/reports.
- Provide full secretarial cover for colleagues whilst they are on annual or sick leave on a rota basis as a team.
- Assisting with Medico-legal, subject access requests by copying notes and following the standard of practice for this process.
What you'll bring:
- Previous Medical Secretarial experience.
- Significant understanding of Medical terminology.
- Fully compliant to work in a medical setting - including valid DBS clearance.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate typing and letter proof reading skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills.
