Job description

£53,058 per annum (increasing to £56,401 in April 2024)
Full time, 35 hours per week
Permanent contract
London based with the option of hybrid working in the office and from home*
Three out of four physiotherapists in the UK choose to be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Members are at the heart of everything we do and we aim to help them thrive as part of an inclusive, supportive and influential community.
To help us achieve this, we’re looking for a talented communications and engagement professional who can lead our national programme of Member Engagement initiatives and campaigns.
You’ll help us to grow a stronger, more productive relationship with our members and develop their collective sense of belonging. You’ll be confident promoting equity and diversity, and helping to remove barriers to engagement for our members from minoritised groups.
You’ll be driven by understanding what influences members’ perceptions and behaviours, and at home using this to shape and deliver inclusive multi-channel Member Engagement Campaigns.
We’ll need you to bring significant engagement experience from a membership or similar setting, plus the ability to lead teams with confidence and manage staff supportively.
We’ll want you to grow in the role and will encourage and support you to keep developing. We are a values-driven organisation and have a strong commitment to equity, diversity and belonging for our staff and our members.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Rob Ledger, Assistant Director, on 020 7314 7888 or email ledgerr@csp.org.uk.
Why work for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy?
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is the professional, educational and trade union body for the UK's 65,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and support workers; and one of the largest representative bodies in healthcare.
At the CSP our goal is to create a culture which is characterised by innovation, respect, encouragement, passion and teamwork. We all strive for continuous improvement and to be the best at everything we do. We aspire to work in a way that embodies our values of learning, courage, inclusivity and integrity. Our shared values are part of our organisational DNA and reflect the expectations we have of ourselves and others. They guide what we do and how we do it to have the greatest impact for our members. Please click here for further information.
We offer an excellent benefits package, including 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, Christmas office closure between 25 December to 01 January and generous pension scheme with 12% employer contribution.
*The CSP operates hybrid working where employees can work between their home and the office. Through discussions with line managers, the CSP encourages employees to decide how, when and where they work best in a way that balances the needs of the CSP, the team and themselves. Employees are still expected to attend the office for in person meetings when required for their role and the organisation. Homeworking is subject to meeting homeworking assessment requirements, which includes a minimum broadband speed of 18Mbps and a dedicated space to work from.
To enable our employees to balance their individual, family and work-life, we would be happy to discuss flexible working arrangements with shortlisted candidates (subject to business needs).
For further information and details of how to apply, please visit the website via the apply button. CVs will not be accepted.
Closing date: 10am, 13 February 2024.
Interview date: to be confirmed, but on or soon after 27 February 2024.
If you require any adjustments during the application stage, please email the Human Resources team at hr@csp.org.uk.
The CSP is committed to equity of opportunity, and we aim to provide a working and learning environment which is free from discrimination. We are taking appropriate steps to create a workforce that reflects the diverse society we work and live in and therefore positively encourage candidates from all sections of the community to apply.
