My client is the busiest in the country and one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. They seek an experienced Mental Health and Trauma Team Lead for maternity cover starting asap!
The role:
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mental Health First Aid and Peer Trauma Support Team
To establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of LFBs Mental Health first aid and peer trauma support team service.
- To manage day to day matters associated with client's approach to Mental Health first aid, in particular the recruitment of Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Support volunteers ensuring that training courses are organised, promoted to volunteers and that attendance is monitored.
- To manage day to day matters associated with the peer trauma support team service, in particular ensuring that the initiative is promoted to the workforce, that volunteers receive the appropriate training and the activities of the team are co-ordinated and delivered.
- To provide advice, containment, support and supervision to all volunteers, assisting them to work safely within their remit, know when and how to signpost to professional services and supporting them to monitor and maintain their own Mental Health and wellbeing.
- To be responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the Mental Health first aid and peer trauma support service provision and developing it in line with emerging good practice.
Communications
- Provide high quality, timely and well-informed reports, advice and support to the Head of Psychological Health and Counselling, principal and senior managers and contractors on all issues relating to the development and delivery of the initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to varied audiences
- Represent the team in order to find resolutions to issues which impact on the competent delivery of the Mental Health first aid and peer trauma support team services.
The successful candidate:
- Mental health first aid certification or Degree in psychology / counselling
- Experience within public sector Mental Health support
- Strong understanding of safeguarding / signposting / internal processes and providing advice
- Experience managing people
Immediate start
Hybrid London SE1 - 2 days per week
Maternity cover - minimum 9 months
Hourly rate £22.93 PAYE / £29.23 LTD UMB per hour
