£42,000 - £51,051 (inclusive of annual incremental rises)

About the Role:
As a Mental Wellbeing Practitioner, you'll deliver vital counselling and therapeutic support to young people aged 12-19 (12-25 with SEND) in Lewisham. Working closely with our dedicated team, you'll ensure high-quality clinical practice and contribute to safeguarding efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough risk assessments and clinical work with young people
Collaborate with youth work staff to identify potential referrals
Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and policies
Provide regular progress reports and evaluate outcomes
The Ideal Candidate:
We're seeking someone who holds a recognised clinical qualification (counselling, psychotherapy, or clinical psychology), has experience working therapeutically with young people, and demonstrates a commitment to equality and diversity.
You will also be able to meet the following:
Membership in professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCS, BPS, HCPC)
Familiar with safeguarding and child protection, committed to youth safety
Supports Youth First's equality, diversity, and inclusion policy
Proficient in BACP Ethical Framework
Skilled in risk assessments, clinical evaluations, and casework reviews
Proactively reports safeguarding concerns
Committed to enhancing service quality and project implementation
Builds effective relationships via clear communication
Produces insightful reports using data analysis
Strong communicator, especially with senior management
Competent in Microsoft Office and data systems
Knowledgeable about relevant legislation
Understand trauma-informed practices, suggesting supervision improvements.
