Mental Health Nurse/CAHMS Practitioner - Emotional Health Service
Join our passionate team in our clients (a not-for-profit organisation within Kingston and Richmond boroughs) as a Mental Health Nurse/CAHMS Prac. Make a difference in the lives of children and young people by providing therapeutic support within schools.
Role Duties and Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic tasks: Conduct assessments and deliver individual, group, parent, and family interventions to young people with mild to moderate difficulties.
- Whole school approach: Support the implementation of a comprehensive Mental Health approach across primary and secondary schools, aligned with the cluster action plan.
- Training and education: Collaborate with colleagues to provide training, education, and support to school staff, parents, and relevant agencies.
- Partnerships: Build strong partnerships and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including children, young people, and their families.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress.
Requirements:
- Qualified creative therapist or Mental Health Nurse registered with HCPC or equivalent professional body.
- Experience working with children and young people with social, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties.
- Proficiency in delivering brief, high-quality interventions to individuals and groups.
- Familiarity with a range of assessment tools and frameworks for evaluating progress and outcomes.
- Ability to assess risk, record and communicate appropriately, and take action to mitigate or manage risk.
- Strong data analysis and evidence-based decision-making skills.
- Experience addressing equality and diversity issues within practice and taking proactive steps to solve them.
