This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Mental Health Social Worker to join our developing Mental Health team. Our team works in partnership with our patients, communities and partners to help the people of our borough feel safe, understood, believed in and cared for. There is a great variety to the role.


About You


We are looking to recruit exceptional Social Workers with the right values, skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to further enhancing and embedding strengths-based practice; focusing on people and the outcomes they wish to achieve where our ethos is ‘home first’.


It is acknowledged that the work undertaken by the successful candidate/s will be challenging yet rewarding given the context of the Care Act, Mental Health, and Mental Capacity Act legislation. Therefore, we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are confident in the application of strength-based approach to support individuals to live as full and independent life. The post holder will require a sound working knowledge of the Care Act and safeguarding processes and possess sound risk assessment and risk management skills.


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

A good understanding of Mental Health and Mental Capacity Act legislation

Significant post qualified experience of working within Adult Social Care

Experience of working with in an adult Mental Health setting would be desirable, and A thorough knowledge and understanding of the Care Act 2014 and Safeguarding Adult, Making Safeguarding Personal

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
