Mental Health Support Worker Can You
Lead at least 4 events each month in all weathers ;
Research, plan and organise activities;
Enable members to tackle difficulties which stop them attending events, offering practical and emotional support;
Empathise with those experiencing Mental Health issues?
Connections Group Exeter is a social network with support for adults with mental.health issues. We aim to tackle isolation and loneliness and increase confidence. Events include walks, minibus trips, visits to local towns and attractions, meals, pool, ten pin bowling. One to one work may involve anything from supporting benefit claims, repairing friendships or encouraging someone to make their own decisions. Events are listed in the monthly newsletter which is sent to around 70 members. All members have been referred by a GP or other professional. You will meet new referrals, check paperwork and welcome them to the group.
You may sometimes work outside office hours occasional evenings, weekends or bank holidays . We do not have an office, admin work is to be done from home. While doing one to one work you will meet members in public places like the library or arts centre.
