This role will be a key support to the MI & Performance Manager, and will be responsible for coordinating and designing MI production for Internal and external regulatory reporting purposes. The role will have a broad scope covering all business classes across Syndicate 1200.
Stakeholder Management
- Working closely with stakeholders at all levels to develop and implement reports and tools to serve the needs of management.
- Liaising with other Functions and Underwriting teams to understand reporting requirements and ensure that reporting is accurate, consistent and valuable to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop forward looking / analytical underwriting MI including multi-platform open market and delegated authority business.
- Deliver timely and accurate management information to various audiences including Westfield Specialty Committees and Boards.
- Provide ad-hoc in-depth analysis for the management team, delivering new insights into business performance and improvement.
- Lead with the enhancement of existing MI reports and the development of new reporting capabilities and dashboards
- Identify and overcome data deficiencies and gaps in analytical capabilities
Role Requirements
Skills/Competencies
o [Essential] Demonstrable strong experience of querying relational databases with SQL.
o [Essential] Microsoft Excel – VLOOKUP, SUMIFs at a minimum
o [Essential] Confidence in dealing with non-technical end-users
o [Preferred] Microsoft Power BI report developing experience (or similar tool such as Tableau, Qlik)
o [Preferred] Knowledge of Power Query
Qualifications
o [Essential] A-level in Mathematics or other numeric-based subject
o [Preferred] BSc in Mathematics or other numeric-based subject
o [Preferred] CII qualifications
Experience
o [Essential] Minimum 1 year in an MI-type role using SQL
o [Preferred] Experience of the London Insurance Market.
