What will you be doing?
Our Microbiologist/Lab technician will play a pivotal role in setting up our new lab, overseeing the microbiological testing programs, environmental monitoring, analysis for Certificate of Analysis (COAs), and water sampling. Ensuring the highest standards in Microbiological testing and analysis.
As part of your role as a Microbiologist/Lab Technician, you will;
- Conduct routine microbiological analyses, such as total plate count, yeast, and mold.
- Manage the environmental monitoring program, from sample collection to reporting results.
- Ensure testing of ingredients and finished products as per specifications.
- Monitor and maintain calibrations for lab equipment, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain testing protocols, methods, and documentation as per ASR and ISO standards.
- Report equipment condition to the Supervisor and recommend replacements when needed.
- Enter raw data into databases and maintain accurate records.
- Manage inventory of supplies required for analysis and sample submission.
- Uphold cleanliness standards in the work area.
- Prepare reports for stakeholders, adhering to high customer service standards.
- Supporting chemical laboratory analyst work.
This role is based on site in our Thames Refinery in London.
Hours of work
Part time – 30hrs per week – 5 days per week (start 8am or 9am)
Full time – 40hrs per week – Monday to Friday (8am – 4pm)
What are we looking for?
- Previous hands-on experience in quality control and lab testing, specifically food/microbiological industrial setting
- Relevant degree qualified – Science, Microbiology, Chemistry
