Address To work as part of the Multi-professional team providing a high standard of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care to women and their families within the integrated maternity service. To work as part of a continuity of carer team or rotate within all clinical areas within maternity services to support professional development and maintain safe standards of midwifery care in line with service provision.
The post-holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. This midwife is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care and is designated to take charge regularly of a ward area or an equivalent sphere within midwifery in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility. The post-holder will be required to work in both the community and the hospital across a 7 day service including night duties. The post-holder is expected to supervise junior staff and to be able to teach qualified and unqualified staff, including basic and/or post-basic students.

Call a Midwife Pregnancy Advice Line
The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an enthusiastic, band 6 Midwife to join our CQC Outstanding Maternity Service.
This position is open to midwives to would like to undertake some or all of their hours working as part of our nationally recognised Call a Midwife, Pregnancy Advice Line which is based at the South East Coast Ambulance Service in Crawley. Midwives applying for this role will be triaging maternity related calls and will be required to risk assess and provide robust advice to ensure patient safety.
The post holder can split their role between the Advice Line and a band 6 role within the maternity service (as a continuity midwife or a core ward midwife, dependent on the needs of the service) or can undertake all their hours on the Call a Midwife service.
