Form of workDriver Hire Leicester are recruiting for a D1 school minibus Driver to support a school during term time. This position is a long-term, on going temporary contract – subject of a DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity*
You will be driving a 16 seat minibus starting at various locations; Nailstone / Blaby / Melton / Loughborough / Mountsorrel / Croft / Sapcote – therefore own transport is essential.
Shift Patterns –
- Full days, split shifts (min 4 hours per day), AM & PM
(*example of split shift = 7.00am – 10am / 2.00pm – 5.00pm)
(*example of full shift = 7.00am – 1 hr lunch – 5.15pm)
The role
As a minibus Driver you are primarily responsible for transporting vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs including physical and /or learning difficulties to their School, Day Centres, and other activities.
Drivers will ensure (along with the escort – where allocated) their passengers’ personal wellbeing and safe/secure travel at all times, in accordance with the job description, relevant Policies, legislation, Procedures and good practice. Duties may also include transporting associated goods and services like post and meal runs during the middle of the day.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
It’s essential you have a full UK driving licence with minibus D1 entitlement and;
- Have held your licence for 2+ years
- Have no more than 3 points on your licence (no DD / DR)
- Either hold an enhanced DBS on the update system or be prepared to apply for one
