Job Summary

Temporary for 18 Months.

We may conduct our interviews in person or using Microsoft Teams for video calling. All you need is a device with a camera and access to the internet. We will provide guidance and instructions on how to use this method if your interview is being held virtually.

As part of North Ayrshire Council’s Modern Apprentice Recruitment Process if, following interview, you are chosen as a Preferred Candidate, you must complete a 1-week pre-employment Course with one of our Employability Partners, before being issued with a Conditional Offer of Employment.

The qualification to be achieved on completion of the Modern Apprenticeship is SCQF 7.

Modern Apprenticeship posts are open to all North Ayrshire Residents aged 16-19yrs old at commencement of employment

Working North Ayrshire invites you to apply for a Modern Apprenticeship in Youthwork. This post is based in the Youth Work team within our Connected Communities Service. Reporting to the MA Coordinator, you will be involved in planning and preparing fun and engaging activities for young people to develop personally and socially in North Ayrshire while providing a safe space for young peoples needs to be met and their voices heard. It'll teach you practical skills for a successful career in youth work. You’ll develop a deep understanding of youth issues and learn how to support a wide variety of young people. You’ll also learn best practices and valuable tools from professionals in the sector. For more details see the attached Role Profile below. PVG (Children)

Our Workstyles

Agile – 100% of time spent working agile (flexibly) and interacting with others. Able to work at home, office or multiple locations. May be required to attend office on set days/rota basis as the role requires.
