Job Purpose
We have a great opportunity for a Monitoring and Control Technical Support Engineer to join our Team. You will support the Monitoring and Control Operations team in providing early diagnostic and Technical decision making and provide an overview of the Water Process system on a 24/7 basis within the ICC. You will also carry out technical triage on escalated system alarms/events that the remote monitoring controllers have initially triaged but require further investigation.
Job Accountabilities
- Act as the point of escalation for the remote monitoring controllers for system alarm and events that require enhanced technical triage on a 24/7 basis.
- Responsible for carrying out detailed technical triage on escalated alarms and events.
- Responsible for carrying out remote interventions on wastewater process assets using set procedures.
- Responsible for providing Technical Support and coaching to the remote monitoring controllers and scheduling analysts.
- Provide insight and analysis on escalated alarms and events.
- Provide support for the remote monitoring controllers and scheduling analysts during periods of increased workloads.
- Ability to understand the need to escalate issues to the Monitoring and Control Operations Manager when appropriate to do so.
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Control Operations Manager to ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures.
- Accountable for carrying out trend analysis on repeat alarms, points still in alarm and out of service alarms.
- Act as the interface with the area operational teams dealing with day to day requests/enquiries, monitoring the dedicated mailboxes for these.
- Carry out alarm and event investigations and provide any relevant information.
- Work with the area operational teams on alarm reduction initiatives
- Responsible for providing reports/information as requested by the Monitoring and Control Operations Manager
Knowledge and Skills
To be successful in this role you'll be educated to ideally to HNC level (or equivalent). You'll also need:
- Significant Wastewater process technical knowledge.
- Operational experience on Wastewater production line environments.
- Effective communication skills able to including the ability to guide team members when describing complex technical information clearly.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of all required systems i.e. STS/RATS/iComply etc.
- Good level of understanding the regulatory and legislative framework surrounding the water or wastewater business.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to drive solutions to a wide range of technical problems, whilst also knowing when to stop and ask for help from support colleagues.
- Licenced operator to remotely control Wholesale assets demonstrated through qualification and accreditation or work towards this.
