We are looking for a Motion Graphics Designer to join our team.

Where in Wellcome will I be working?

You'll be an integral part of our in-house Creative Team. Helping to create visual and verbal communications for both Wellcome and our museum and library, Wellcome Collection. This covers everything from social media, digital marketing, advocacy campaigns, events, exhibitions and general branding support.

We're currently reshaping how we work, in line with Wellcome's evolving needs. So it's an exciting time to join.

Our ambitions for the relaunched team will be high. With the right team and ways of working in place, we'll bring Wellcome's messaging to life with insightful, timely and brilliantly crafted ideas, tools and assets that make a difference.

What will I be doing?

You will be working closely with the Senior Designer and Creative Lead, you'll create compelling and engaging graphics and animated assets that help us to gain recognition, inspire action and build trust with our audiences. Our outputs are broad: from social media and digital marketing to events and exhibitions. This role combines creativity with technical skills to produce graphics, animations, visual effects, and dynamic elements.

As a Motion Graphics Designer, you will:

• Create captivating Motion Graphics, animated videos, and visual effects that effectively communicate our brand message and enhance user engagement. Develop innovative concepts for Motion Graphics projects. Translate these ideas into visually compelling designs that align with the overall creative and project direction.

• Adopt inclusive design practices; play your part in helping the team build an anti-racist and ante-ablest brand; developed with experts from minoritised communities at every stage.

• Maintain an accurate daily timesheet to enable Integrated Producers to track projects and assist Integrated Producers in scoping out Motion Graphics projects

• Take on delegated tasks from the Senior Designer across sign off and approvals for both internal projects and those being carried out by third parties and freelancers

• Work across multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining a high standard of quality. Liaise face-to-face with internal stakeholders and build trusted relationships across Wellcome Trust & Wellcome Collection

• Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.

Is this job for me?

We're looking for someone who has a high-quality, professional portfolio showing examples of 2D and Motion Graphics projects, an understanding of brand-led design and an ability to create captivating graphics and communicate them effectively.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong experience working in similar roles either in an in-house design studio or design agency

• Excellent understanding of the Motion Graphics industry as well as an outstanding portfolio of work

• The ability to move into 2D conceptual design across brand, print and digital

• Keen interest in art and science

• Keen eye for continuous improvement: what we do, and help others to do the same.

• Ability to manage and prioritising a complex, varied workload

Our Hybrid Way of Working

We understand that our colleagues have commitments and personal interests outside of work and we strive to build a flexible working environment, in which people can perform at their best. We are currently working 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from our Euston Road offices (as part of our hybrid Ways of Working) with the remaining 3 days working either remotely or in the office.

From 1st September 2024 we will move to 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) with the remaining 2 days working either remotely or in the office.
