Salary Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking for a role offering permanent day shift? Do you have a strong working knowledge of mechanical engineering, ideally with some knowledge of tool making? Are you local / commutable to Newmarket, Suffolk.
We're searching for an experienced Maintenance Engineer for a company who are a specialist manufacturer in their field. With a negotiable salary circa 45,000, working a permanent day shift with an early finish on a Friday, this is the ideal role for a skilled engineer looking to get away from shift work.
You will be working alongside 1 other engineer to carry out all maintenance on the site. Due to this, it is essential that the successful candidate is well versed with an array of mechanical systems. At this moment in time, we are only looking for basic electrical skills, with the greater emphasis being on the mechanical experience. As well as carrying out all routine reactive maintenance, you will also be expected to work with the other engineer to plan preventive maintenance & adhere to a PPM plan.
As the company pride themselves on the fact, they are a bespoke manufacturer, your team will be required to assist in helping to create alternate engineering solutions so the machinery can produce the required products. This can involve having to weld up bespoke jigs, or by manufacturing machine parts via manual mills & lathes.
We will only consider candidates who have previous fabrication experience.
Duties include:
Carry out routine reactive and PPM checks on all machinery on siteCarry out repairs on any machine breakdownsLiaise with the suppliers of equipment to replace any broken or faulty partsUndertake the disassembly & reassembly of machineryFault finding and first line electrical workProblem solving & ability to find unique solutions when manufacturing problems arise
The successful candidate will also have a qualification in engineering and have at least 5+ years' worth of experience within a similar role.
Standard working hours for this role are 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, with a 12:30 finish every Friday!
