Post No. LEICH10003 - Museum and Visitor Services Assistant


We are looking for an outgoing and approachable person to join our team at Newport Museum and Art Gallery. You will join the Museum’s front of house team, welcome Museum, Art Gallery and Library visitors, act as the first port of call for enquiries and help to engage visitors with our displays and city-wide offer. You will play an important part in providing an enjoyable visitor experience while ensuring that public spaces remain a safe and secure environment for all and the collections on display. You should be passionate about local history and culture and be keen to share this to inform and inspire our visitors.


We want a candidate who can communicate effectively and confidently with a variety of audiences and ages with enthusiasm, patience and resourcefulness. You will have experience of working with the public in a comparable environment.


This is a part-time position (18.5hrs/week) and you will generally work Thursdays to Saturdays and occasional Sundays, Bank Holidays or evenings to support out of hour Museum & Art Gallery activities and events.
