National Sales Director - Haematology


Location:
Field Worker, UK – With national travel


This is a national role, meaning the successful candidate will be able to work remotely throughout the UK, but with some expectations of national travel and attendance to head office as
required.

The focus of this role is to develop, execute and measure account plans to drive uptake of GSK medicines and improve patient outcomes in Haematological Malignancies including (but not limited to) Multiple Myeloma and Myelofibrosis.


This is a key leadership opportunity within GSK’s Oncology Business Unit, heading a team of 5 extremely capable and high performing Key Account Managers and an External Expert (EE) Manager within Haematological Malignancies including (but not limited to) Multiple Myeloma and Myelofibrosis. Your role will be to develop and support your team, empowering their delivery of commercial excellence and growth in sales. Additionally, you’ll also contribute to brand and organizational strategy as a member of the oncology leadership team. You will partner with marketing, medical and market access groups, as well as teams in business insights and intelligence, training, and compliance.


Externally, you will support engagements with top-tier Key Opinion Leaders, policy markets, business partners and more, building networks with additional third parties such as professional societies, vendors and consultancies that are relevant to the target market.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Develops and manages the Haematology Key Account Managers (KAM) to lead, coach and manage their business to out-perform the competition through a blend of traditional sales activity, account management and new ways of working.

  • Defines expectations of optimal ways of working for the KAMs to ensure competitive selling, HCPE delivery and strong positioning of our service offering. Leverages resource to enable the delivery of this, and continuously evolves the KAMs capability to engage customers more effectively and efficiently in an evolving external environment

  • Act as a key member of the Oncology Leadership Team that can support, challenge and shape the overall Oncology strategy to achieve GSK’s objectives in the therapy area


Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant scientific discipline with the ability to quickly understand scientifically complex topics

  • Previous line leadership experience

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience working in pharmaceutical commercial roles

  • Strong commercial and business acumen

  • Previous experience in a specialized therapy area, with preference for prior haematology therapy area experience


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Previous experience heading a high-performing sales team

  • Adaptability and agility in your working style and planning

  • Demonstrated experience working in an extremely competitive market

  • Comfortable in a fast-moving and dynamic environment
