.NET Backend Software Developer

We are working with a software technology startup serving the energy sector, formed as a spin out from the University of Nottingham. The start-up team combines experts in engineering, energy production and the technology sector and is seeking a .NET backend software developer to support development of the MVP.

The founding team are looking for individuals who:

• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performing backend systems using .NET technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to company coding standards.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implemen3tation, testing, and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of backend architecture and development processes.
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with industry standards.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
• Bring trust and integrity to all customer, team and business partner interactions.
• Have a passion for learning.

The company has been formed to provide power operators with decision intelligence through a real time business information platform that predicts and recommends the optimal use in different scenarios based on information at a component level.

The company is supported by leading players in the energy sector and the software product is being developed and commercialized after years of applied research funded by industry trade bodies. We are looking for a highly motivated professional who can lead the early phases of the product development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development with .NET frameworks (e.g., .NET Core, ASP.NET).
• Proficiency in C#, SQL, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
