Net Zero Analyst

What will you do day to day?
The Net Zero Analyst will report to the Net Zero Consultant or Manager, while working closely with all members of the Plan Zero Consulting team as required by individual projects. You will be expected to deliver billable consultancy services to new and existing customersas required by specific engagements.
Typical advice you would be providing our clients includes:
• Supporting clients understand and report on their carbon emissions, generating insight to drive outcomes• Identifying solutions to reduce their emissions in a timely and cost-effective manner• Educating customers on the implications of decarbonisation, including potential high-level impacts on business operations • Providing a holistic view of carbon emissions including advice on Scope 3 emissions and ways to understand, report and analyze them, as well as to develop initiatives to reduce them• Overview of innovation and technologies relating to decarbonisation and relevant to the customer's sector and industryAs part of your role, you will be:• Researching and identifying insight that can inform and shape sustainability and carbon strategies• Performing analysis on customer scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emission data and identify areas for improvement • Producing impactful reports with findings and recommendations• Supporting delivery of presentations to clients• Developing data analysis models to assess customer carbon emission performance and forecast scenarios• Undertaking market studies on decarbonisation trends, technologies and innovation to support our customers. needs• Creating and delivering sustainability and carbon dashboards, allowing segmentation by client, business unit and any other relevant metric• Identifying where gaps in raw data exist to produce detailed carbon and consumption reporting• Supporting on Carbon & Energy Management System maintenance for client documents• Working closely with the clients' sustainability teams to support with their energy and carbon requirements • Supporting preparation of client proposals on decarbonization opportunities• Continually seeking personal skills development opportunities to support improved job role performance and career progression within Mitie
Who will you work with?
The Plan Zero Consulting team is part of Mitie's Plan Zero team, the company's business unit responsible for driving the sustainability and decarbonisation agendas of our customers. The role will play a pivotal role in supporting clients accelerate their Net Zero journeythrough provision of strategic and advisory support across all relevant areas, including the built environment, energy procurement, transport, waste and biodiversity You will work closely with account and business development teams, ensuring early access to client conversations and early identification of client issues and challenges. As part of this role, you can expect regular engagement with:• Plan Zero Consultants, Managers and Partners to discuss project delivery with a focus on achieving the exceptional• Mitie existing customers to discuss and deliver decarbonisation opportunities• Internal stakeholders including Account Managers, Technical Managers, andOperations teams to educate on the energy transition and sustaianbility trends and our role within this space
Qualifications
• University degree in a relevant field• Desirable to have work experience or volunteering in the ESG space
Experience & Skills
• Evidence of strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities• Ability to review and assess large volumes of technical data and distil the key strategic insights• Excellent English written and oral communication skills• Ability to work within teams and with multiple stakeholders• Proven self-starter and capable of working unsupervised• Attention to detail with a completer/finisher task mentality • Understanding of the decarbonsiation challenge and a desire to keep developing in this space• Excellent IT skills in particularly sound knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI)
