SalaryDigital and Information Services at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint to the post of Network Engineer.
The postholder will work in the Network Group (Security and Services) in support of the University’s teaching, learning, research and administration activities, through the development and support of its data communication network, specifically network security, primarily firewalls.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Demonstrate a good working knowledge and practical experience of network technologies. In particular:
- Switching/Routing (LAN & WAN)
- Palo Alto Firewalls (or other Enterprise Firewalls)
- InfoBlox IPAM Grid, (or other IP Address management)
- VPN technologies
- Relevant experience in managing a network and security infrastructure in a large university or commercial network environment.
- Demonstrable ability to design and integrate solutions using modern network and security technologies at the enterprise level.
