What you will be doing

  • As a Network Engineer, you will be getting fully immersed in managing, maintaining, monitoring, and implementing the latest networking solutions ensuring the internal network is fully functioning with high availability at all times.
  • Need to be motivated and passionate about the latest network technologies and thrive in an environment where new challenges are presented daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing Connexin’s networks, ensuring uptime requirements are achieved.
  • Provide technical analysis to all customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services within defined SLAs.
  • Work with key stakeholders on the design and implementation of planned network upgrades and expansion in line with the strategy.
  • Lead or provide support in the design and implementation of projects and changes to the network and security infrastructure.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement ensuring technical support processes are continuously updated and that support teams are fully trained on any changes.
  • Provide weekly reports on technical support and network activity and status to Leadership.
  • Monitor, support and coach 1st and 2nd line support teams on all channels and products, especially with regards to technical issues which need escalation & higher-level investigations.
  • Work to document, automate and improve our processes.
  • Maintain and update documentation of the network.
  • Manage and prioritise network projects.

Essential qualifications, skills, competencies and experience

  • Experience of Software Defined Networking principles and its implementation, with a keen eye on automation is desirable.
  • Knowledge & experience of Network Technologies such as Fixed Wireless access, Fibre and LPWAN, including routing Protocols
  • Understanding of Network platforms – including Cisco Catalyst Series, Cisco ASR Series and Cisco Meraki, Nokia Routers/Switches
  • Good problem Solving and Technical Troubleshooting Skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Experience in creating/implementing high-level & low-level designs.
  • Experienced with producing and implementing complex configurations
  • Experience and knowledge of Optical Fibre network FTTH Technology.
  • Experience of ISP and internet peering. · Data centre hosting technology understanding or experience.
  • Adept in troubleshooting and configuration of security software.
  • Experience and understanding of automation tools and the DevOps approach to infrastructure orchestration.
  • Experience with supporting client-facing solutions.
  • Good communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Good time management skills
  • You must be able to take direction where required
  • Project management skills desirable
  • CCNP qualification or similar.
  • Driving licence and access to own transport is essential for this position.
  • Experience working for a mature Telco, Internet Service Provider or Data Centre following best practices.
  • Proven record of working in response teams and resolving incidents.
  • Some experience developing, implementing and managing automation tools.
