Network Specialist
- Location: Basingstoke (5 days on-site)
- Clearance: MOD DV (Must be active)
- Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
One of the organisations at the heart of collaborating with UK Defence are looking to bring a Network Specialist into their delivery team dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in networking, infrastructure, applications, and security.
Role:
As a Network Specialist, you will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Networking, Infrastructure, Applications, and Security to deliver top-notch solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing larger or more complex solutions tailored to meet challenging requirements.
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of customers' business and commercial issues.
- Collaborating with Solution Architects to design and communicate structures for integrated solutions.
- Configuring devices, prototyping, and ensuring network implementations align with high-level and low-level designs (HLDs & LLDs).
- Troubleshooting and providing support across various Cisco appliances and other networking components.
- Offering guidance on the development and modification of solution components to ensure compatibility with relevant architectures, policies, and standards.
Experience:
- Proficiency in Juniper SRX and Fortinet FortiGate with a proven track record in network implementations.
- Familiarity with Cisco routing and switching appliances, including the 1800, 1900, 2900, 3900, and 4300 series, as well as the 3750, 3850, 9200, and 9300 series.
- Strong understanding of OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols, NAT, GRE Tunnelling protocol, DMVPN Tunnelling Protocol, Network Design, Subnetting, and Supernetting.
- Previous experience in troubleshooting and providing comprehensive support.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
