Job Role & Scope: 

Generate leads and opportunities to create and maintain a sustainable Sales Pipeline. Convert pipeline opportunities into real business as per agreed targets and sales forecasts. Assist in developing New Business opportunities into longterm business, as well as advising the business on marketing and sales strategies applicable to specific market sectors. An ideal candidate will have an engineering qualification and possess a technical understanding of Electro-mechanical assemblies and a good understanding of the manufacturing methods of plastics / metals / electronics. This will be accompanied by an in-depth commercial awareness of how revenues and gross margins impact the business with particular refence to startup costs and development contracts for New Business.

Responsibilities include:

• Take full ownership of the process to generate a Sales Pipeline
• Interpretation of customer Intel. and reporting to business on monthly basis
• Creation of Strategic Account Plans for new customers / business opportunities
• Input to high degree on Sales Strategies for New Business Development
• Develop good working relationships with key decision makers across the target customer
• Gain a high level of understanding of the customer’s products and the sector they operate in
• Ensure the business exceeds customer expectations with feedback to Senior Management
• Account Manage new customers to a handover point agreed by line manager
• Development of Contracts with new customers

Skills

• Very high-level communications skills, the ability to take on-board complex technical data and interpret into ‘real’ requirements and actions, as well as the ability to work calmly and effectively in pressurized environments in terms of timescales and deadlines.
• The role will require presentations of company data to senior management and business owners of potential new customers.
• A good understanding of the demands of Manufacturing is essential, including an appreciation of Manufacturing Quality, production leadtimes and component sourcing would be extremely useful and beneficial.
• Knowledge of off-shore sourcing and different methodologies of supply chain systems to customers own production lines would be advantageous.
• The role will demand a Hands-on approach with an attitude to be comfortable working at pace and being tenacious enough to see things through to a successful outcome even in challenging circumstances.
• It will also require a willingness to work well as part of a team and support other business areas where needed.
