Title Boilerhouse /Packing Operator - Night Shift Monday to Wednesday
Department Manufacturing
Reports to Boilerhouse Supervisor
Job Purpose
To assist in the efficient and effective operation of the Boilerhouse to ensure delivery of product, on time, to specification.
Departmental Liaison
Reporting to the Boilerhouse Supervisor, you will also have close liaisons with the following departments:
- Filling Hall
- Goods In, Receiving and inspection
Key duties and areas of Responsibility:
The following duties are intended to give a broad indication of the variety of tasks the post holder will be asked to undertake. It should be noted however, that the list is not exhaustive and staff may be asked to carry out other duties commensurate with the position. Accountabilities
Food Safety
- To follow safety standards set within the Manufacturing Department in order to ensure the safety of yourself, fellow employees, contractors and customers.
- To assist in achieving all departmental objectives, within agreed safety and quality standards.
- To achieve the agreed standards of product quality and environmental hygiene.
- To assist in maintaining laid down procedures and practices to comply with the BRC standards.
Production
- To provide the Supervisor with accurate information i.e. equipment breakdowns, raw material issues etc.
- Ensure that schedule is checked in order to plan each day’s production.
- Requisition all materials in a timely manner, which may be required for the day’s production.
- Weigh out materials required, to the correct weight as stated on the recipe sheet.
- Pour pans effectively and efficiently when instructed to do so.
- Wash/Pig out the production line after each product as required.
- Complete all relevant and necessary paperwork ensuring all sections are completed correctly and legibly.
- Ensure product manufacturing Instructions are adhered to, to comply with customer requirements.
- Assist in charging pans, quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping at all times, practicing clean as you go.
- Return all materials at the end of the manufacturing run, to the appropriate area. All material must be correctly cleaned, stored, sealed and/or palletized prior to being returned.
- Ensure that all fruit is inspected effectively and efficiently to obtain the required raw material specification.
- Identify training requirements to the Supervisor prior to undertaking new tasks.
- Report any practices or procedures which may be unsafe and have potential to cause injury.
Team Working and Relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships within the team, working cooperatively at all times.
- Ensure that any difficulties in working relationships are reported promptly to a supervisor.
- Liaise with other team members as required, to fulfil production requirements.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £11.44-£11.71 per hour
