Job description

My Client is currently seeking to recruit a Night Shift Transport Administrator on a temp to perm basis.

My Client is an American multinational shipping & receiving and supply chain management company founded in 1907. My Client has grown to become a Fortune 500 company and one of the world's largest shipping couriers.

Hours of work; Monday - Friday 21:00 - 06:00 (Overtime may be required at the discrestion fo the Client)

2 x 30 minute breaks per shift.

Payrate 14.50 per hour

Overtime rate; 18.12 per hour

Responsible for general Transport administration duties reporting to the Senior on site Manager. Communicating with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the operation. Ensuring drivers are dispatched on time with relevant detail to carry out their planned activities (You may be required to work additional hours to meet the needs of the entire operation. Flexibility is necessary.)

Your responsibilities:

  • Dispatching drivers with the correct paperwork, references and professional detail to complete their planned routes.
  • Ensure all routes are covered and make changes to ensure non failure of deliveries or collections.
  • Speak with the customer, suppliers in a professional way.
  • Liaise with suppliers and other depots ensuring all routes are on time and incident free.
  • Ensure all drivers are compliant and download their digi card daily.
  • Data input using various excel spread sheets & Client systems.
  • Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
  • Making sure to arrive and leave in a punctual manner and that correct break times are adhered to
  • Answer the phone to deal with enquiries or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
  • Utilise office appliances such as photocopier, printers etc. and computers for word processing, spreadsheet creation etc.
  • Monitor stocks of office supplies (stationery etc.) and report when there are shortages
  • Regular use of e-mail to communicate with customers and colleagues to solve issues and reply when necessary
  • Re-booking of orders or loads which have missed their booking
  • Comply with procedures and Health & Safety requirements ensuring that your department is kept clean and tidy
  • Communicating any issues, verbal and written to the Team Leader, notifying them of any issues which may require further follow up
  • Ensuring a handover is completed if another person is following you in your department

Your skills:

  • Experience using excel spread sheets
  • Good IT skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent attention to detail
