About us The EGA Institute for Women’s Health is an exciting and dynamic environment, and its mission is to bring together the expertise of clinicians and researchers from a diverse range of disciplines so that they can deliver excellence and innovation in research, clinical practice, education, and training in order to make a real and sustainable difference to women's and babies’ health locally, nationally, and worldwide. About the role The successful candidate will need to prove ability and commitment to carry out high quality original research, leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals and demonstrated ability and modifying protocols to answer specific research questions. S/he will be supported to apply for external funding or intermediate fellowships. The candidate will engage on a programme of post-doctoral research hosted by the department Women’s Cancer. The candidate will be expected to undertake teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and carry out other forms of public presentation. Applicants should have a higher academic degree e.g. PhD and evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications. The successful candidate should ideally have experience in cell culture and processing of human tissues, in modelling and genetically modifying cells in vitro, in extracting protein, DNA and RNA, in library preparations and sequencing. Experience with single-cell sequencing would be desirable but not essential. The postholder will have oversight of ongoing research in the group and will directly supervise junior colleagues whilst developing their own research programme within the group.
