SalaryKingsway Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Nurse Prescriber to join our team on a part-time basis, for 4 days per week. You will need to be competent in reviewing minor illnesses on a day to day basis as well as patients with chronic long term conditions.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Undertaking health assessments, administering medication & treatments, & performing diagnostic tests
- Providing & evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients’ health & social care needs are met
- General health & well-being promotion.
- Creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long term condition
- Managing & treating long-term conditions, in line with national & local policies & practice needs
- Reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness, in accordance with evidence-based practice as well as national & practice protocols; working with patients to support their adherence to prescribed treatments
- Prioritising health problems & intervening appropriately, to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
- Supporting & managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health & contraception, & cervical cytology consultations
- Implementing & participating in, vaccination & immunisation programmes for adults & children, including travel abroad
- Meeting the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care
- Hypertension review & management
- Running asthma, COPD & diabetes clinics & reviews
- New patient & health checks
