Job description
Are you a third year Occupational Therapy student or registered Occupational Therapist? Come and start your career in an environment that suits you in the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) area.
North Bristol Trust (NBT), University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and Sirona care & health are pleased to be working in collaboration to recruit the Occupational Therapists of
our future.
We have a range of static and rotational posts available across the organisations.
If successfully shortlisted, we look forward to inviting you to an Interview Assessment Day on Monday 8th April at Glenside Campus, University of the West of England (Bristol).
Please note, you only need to apply for an advert with one organisation. You will be able to provide your preference of organisation at the assessment day.
Occupational therapy caseloads are varied, challenging and rewarding, requiring application of a wide range of therapeutic skills to encompass functional and cognitive assessments for patient care planning
and onward referrals. You will join our experienced and supportive teams in a variety of environments.
Close multi-disciplinary working and links with NHS and community partners exist to address needs at all stages of the clinical pathways, with occupational therapy playing a crucial role.
Your responsibilities will include:
To act as an autonomous practitioner, providing assessment and treatment, and managing your own
patient caseload within a speciality team, with the support and mentoring of senior team members.
For rotational posts, staff will rotate to different clinical areas across the region. Each rotation will have clear learning objectives to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge.
To plan and prioritise your own workload, delegating tasks as appropriate and communicating progress with the multi-disciplinary team.
To supervise and train students as required.
To communicate effectively with patients and carers to progress treatment programmes and provide reassurance.
Use clinical reasoning and treatment skills to deliver personalised treatment plans based on evidence based practice.
You only need to apply for an advert from one organisation – any duplications will be removed at shortlisting stage. You will be able to provide your preference of organisation at the assessment day if
successfully shortlisted.
