Job description

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with leadership and management skills (NHS band 8a equivalent )

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with leadership skills to assist children and young people with disabilities through the promotion of independence, skill acquisition and support for care provision. This role is based in Sleaford with some travel required around the county and hybrid working available.

Using the PEOP model we provide support through provision of advice, equipment and recommendations for adaptations supporting children, young people and their carers in the home environment.

About the Team

This is a newly created post recognising the need for clear Occupational Therapy leadership to maintain high professional standards with a strategic overview.

We are committed to supporting Occupational Therapy students; actively building links with the local universities both as placement educators and as guest lecturers.

You will:

  • Ensure the provision of high quality and effective Occupational Therapy to meet the needs of children and their families, in a timely manner meeting relevant KPI’s.

  • Represent the service within multi-agency forums and to contribute to the development of policy and practice in Children’s Services.

  • Ensure the Occupational Therapy service is fully integrated within the wider Children's Services in order to promote positive outcomes for children and their families.

  • Be accountable for the direction, delivery, and performance of the team, incorporating assessment and appropriate management of risk.

  • Develop the team with a multidisciplinary approach using developed managerial and leadership skills underpinned by quality improvement knowledge promote excellent working practice, promoting the rights of service users in line with national and regional strategies.

We have team members who are involved in promoting Occupational Therapy at county and national level; working to promote good practice. These activities reflect our drive to provide a high-quality, evidence-based service.

About You

You will be an  qualified Occupational Therapist (MSc OT /BSc OT / Dip COT) with current HCPC registration and experience of leadership and management  We welcome applications from positive, enthusiastic leaders seeking to develop your skills and knowledge in the social care arena.
